Yes. The full transcript, copying, and TXT and SRT exports are free. No card, account or payment after processing. This example supports up to 30 minutes and 150 MB per recording. Primary service: up to 20 requests per hour per network. Backups: up to 5 requests per day per network, subject to their free allowances.
Where is my recording sent?
Your browser reads the file you select. It is not sent to our server. FreeTranscriptAPI receives your YouTube link and IP address directly. If it cannot retrieve the transcript, an active backup service receives the link through our server. Backup results are cached temporarily.
Why does the first run take longer?
Your own file: The speech model must download first. Your browser tries to keep it in its cache. Clearing browser data or storage limits may require another download. Slower devices take longer to process audio.

How accurate is the transcript?
Accuracy depends on language, model and audio quality. For Croatian, we recommend the balanced model and selecting the language manually. Names, numbers, music and overlapping speakers may cause errors. Speakers are not identified automatically.
Will the text remain when I close the page?
Text is not saved automatically. Download or copy it before closing the page. Stopping cancels processing and discards unfinished results.
